Terms
These terms are the agreement between you and James Lewis, trading as Folio. By using Folio you agree to them. Last updated: October 2026.
Folio is an AI-powered website builder for freelancers. You describe your work, Folio generates a portfolio website, and for a one-time payment of $400 you can download the finished HTML file to use as your own. Building and previewing your site is free; you only pay when you download.
You are contracting with James Lewis, the individual seller behind Folio. You confirm you are of legal age to enter a contract, or that you have authority to bind the organisation you act for.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, tax and cancellation mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Refunds are covered by my Refund Policy.
The website generated for you is yours — once downloaded, you own the HTML file and may use, modify and publish it however you like. You are responsible for the accuracy of the content in it and for having the rights to any text or images you provide as input.
You grant me a limited licence to process the text you enter solely to generate your website and provide the service.
Folio uses artificial intelligence to write and design your site. AI output can be inaccurate or unexpected — please review your site before publishing it. You are responsible for how you use the output and for verifying it suits your purpose. You must not use Folio to generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property.
You must not misuse Folio. That includes:
Folio itself — the software, design and branding — remains my property. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service; they don't transfer any ownership of it.
I work hard to keep Folio available and reliable, but I can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The service is provided "as is" and I disclaim implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) to the fullest extent the law allows.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill — arising from your use of Folio. My total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where the law doesn't allow it.
I may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, don't pay, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly violate these rules. If your access ends, your right to use the service ends too; sites you've already downloaded remain yours.
I may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use means you accept the changes. Questions? Email me at randientservices@gmail.com.
